Tata Cell unveils Voice-based service
Our Bureau, Hyderabad June 27: TATA Cellular Ltd, one of the two mobile telephone operators in
Andhra Pradesh along with Bharti Mobile Ltd, on Wednesday launched an innovative
value added service called VoiceMe which it claims is first such initiative in
the country.
Developed by the Chennai based Speech and Software Technologies (I) Pvt. Ltd., a Tata enterprise, this voice-based solution
powered by HelloNet uses speech recognition technologies to convert text
messages to voice interface.
VoiceMe service converts text messages of
any size sent to a cellular phone or a computer into voice messages and plays
them over the user’s cellular phone.
Long messages, even with text or
HTML attachments, can be sent over the voiceme, unlike the other current e-mail
or SMS services.
