Tata Cellular launches VoiceMe services in AP
Our ICE Bureau, Hyderabad June 27: India’s first voice navigated audio
e-mail sevice-VoiceMe- was today launched in Andhra Pradesh by Tata Cellular Ltd
(TCL).
Voiceme convert text messages of any size sent to a cellular
phone, either from a mobile phone or a computer, into voice messages and plays
them over the user’s cellular phone.
Unlike the current e-mail or SMS
services, long messages even with text or HTML attachments, can be sent over the
VoiceMe. Its provides access to e-mail without a PC or an Internet
connection.
The software for VoiceMe has been developed by the Chennai
based Speech and Software Technologies (I) Pvt. Ltd.(SSTIL), a Tata enterprise.
SSTIL is in talks with another cellular operator for passing on the technology.
