IBM launches speech recognition software
By Our Staff Reporter, Chennai, Aug 17:
IBM Software Group today launched the Indian English
version of Via Voice for the OEM market.
HCL Dragon only last week came
out with a similar product. IBM's Via Voice has been developed to suit the
Indian English accent with the help of Speech and Software Technologies (I) Pvt. Ltd., a Tata company.
In order to make the software recognise Indian
accented speech, an Indian acoustic model was built which contains frequently
used Indian words, says a company release.
